DTA Issuing SNAP Benefits Early Because of Partial Government Shutdown

By Rylie Mitchel –

If you receive SNAP benefits from the Department of Transitional Assistance then you will be getting your February SNAP benefits by January 20.

The Department of Transitional Assistance says it is issuing benefits early because of the partial government shutdown.

Benefits will be available between January 17 – 20 and those who do receive benefits will not get benefits in February.

The Department of Transsitional Assistance also says that people should carefully use their benefits to ensure that they last throughout the month.

Anyone facing immediate hunger, should contact the FoodSource Hotline at (800) 645-8333 and if you have any questions about SNAP benefits, you should call the DTA Assistance Line at (877) 382-2363.
